Introduction: Shanghai World Expo Exhibition & Convention Center locates on the east riverside of the Huang Pu River, west of the Shanghai World Expo Axis, is adjoined with the China Pavilion, Performance Centre and Expo Centre by the Expo Axis, connected by Nan Pu Bridge (南浦大桥), Lu Pu Bridge (卢浦大桥), Da Pu Tunnel (打浦路隧道), Shang Nan Road (上南路) and Yaohua Road (耀华路).

Hongqiao International Airport (mainly for domestic flights)
– locates at the west border of Shanghai, 23 km away from SWEECC

By Metro

Route (1) 
At Hongqiao Airport Terminal 2 station (虹桥2号航站楼), take Metro Line #2 to People’s Square (人民广场), interchange there to Metro Line #8 and get off at Yaohua Road (耀华路) station, about 10 minutes walking distance to SWEECC. The Metro costs RMB 6.

Route (2)
At Hongqiao Airport Terminal 1 (虹桥1号航站楼) station, take Metro Line #10 to Laoximen (老西门), interchange there to Metro Line #8 and get off at Yaohua Road (耀华路) station, about 10 minutes walking distance to SWEECC. The Metro costs RMB 6.

By Airport Bus Line
Take Airport Bus #938 and get off at Zhongshan South Road (中山南路西藏南路), take Metro Line #8 from South Xizang Road (西藏南路) station and get off at Yao Hua Road (耀华路) station, about 10 minutes walking distance to SWEECC. RMB 7 for Bus; RMB 4 for Metro.

Pudong International Airport (mainly for international flights)
– locates at the coastline in eastern Pudong district, 40 km away from SWEECC

It takes approximately 50 minutes and costs around RMB 140.

By Maglev Train (Magnetic Levitation Train)
At airport Arrival Hall 2nd floor, take Maglev Train to Metro Line #2 Longyang Rd (龙阳路) station, interchange there to Metro Line #7 and get off at Yaohua Road (耀华路), about 10 minutes walking distance to SWEECC. Duration: 20 – 28 minutes. Fare: depends on kind of ticket**.

**About Maglev Train: RMB 40 for a single trip ticket by presenting airline ticket of the same day, the ordinary single trip ticket of the day costs RMB 50. From airport Arrival Hall 2nd floor to Metro Line #2 Longyang Rd station, duration: 8 minutes; service hour: 07:02 – 21:42, frequency: every 15 – 20 minutes. Shanghai Railway Station (上海火车站)

By Metro
Shanghai Railway Station (上海火车站) situates at Metro Line #1, directly travel from there to People’s Square (人民广场), interchange to Metro Line #8 and get off at Yaohua Road (耀华路), about 10 minutes walking distance to SWEECC. The Metro costs RMB 4.

It takes approximately 20 - 25 minutes and costs around RMB 25 - 35. 

Shanghai South Railway Station (上海南站)

By Metro
At Shanghai South Railway Station (上海南站), take Metro Line #3 and travel to Longcao Road (龙漕路) station, interchange to Metro Line #12 to Middle Longhua Road (龙华中路) station, then interchange again to Metro Line #7 and get off at Yaohua Road (耀华路), about 10 minutes walking distance to SWEECC. The Metro costs RMB 4.

By Taxi
It takes approximately 30 - 35 minutes and costs around RMB 35 - 40.

 Shanghai Metro

Shanghai has 14 Metro Lines, numbered from 1 to 13 and 16. They connect the scenery, hotels, commercial areas, shopping areas, tourist spots, other transportation stations within the city and also the Hongqiao and Pudong Airports. Metro is the most convenient transportation in Shanghai. Fare ranges from RMB 2 to 14. 2- 4 minutes per stop.

The closest station to the exhibition venue is Yaohua Road (耀华路), Exit 4, in Metro Line #8 or #7.

 Public Bus

Lots of public bus lines run through SWEECC, the fixing stations nearby SWEECC: Shutter Bus No 1, No. 3 & No. 4 (To China Art Museum); Some buses will stop close to the exhibition center, take bus #83 / 164 / 177 / 314 / 454 / 576 / 734 / 786 / 818 / 974 / 978  to South Pudong Road Shangnan Road or Yaohua Road Bus Station.

 Private Car

The exhibition center connects the Nan Pu Bridge (南浦大桥), Lu Pu Bridge (卢浦大桥), Da Pu Tunnel (打浦路隧道), Shang Nan Road (上南路) and Yaohua Road (耀华路).

Self-driving visitor can firstly go to “Yaohua Road (耀华路)” or “Pudong Road South (浦东南路)” and turn up north to “Shang Nan Road (上南路)”, then turn into “Guozhan Road (国展路)”.

Alternatively, can firstly go to “Xue Ye Road (雪野路)” or “Xue Ye Road No. 2 (雪野二路)” and turn up north to “Shang Nan Road (上南路)”, then turn into “Guozhan Road (国展路)”.

Car park charges: RMB 5/hour; RMB 40 cap


 Metro Taxi

Taxi is operated by different companies which have its distinct taxi colors.  It all runs 24 hours a day with two charging standards on day-time and on night-time.

Day time (05:00 – 23:00), the basic fare is RMB14 for first 3km, RMB 2.5 for each additional 1km from between 3km to 15km, RMB 3.6 for each additional 1km farther than 15km.

Night time (23:00 – 05:00), the fare is RMB 18 for first 3km, RMB 3.1 for each additional 1km from between 3km to 15km, and RMB 4.7 for farther than 15km.

For every 4 minutes' waiting, the surcharge equals to the unit price per kilometer.

 Shanghai Public Transportation Card (SPTC)
SPTC is a form of rechargeable cash card, which can be used for transportations and related services in and around Shanghai, including buses, metros, maglevs, ferries and taxis.

SPTC can be purchased and top-up in all metro‘s sale kiosks, banks, post offices, and most of the convenience shops in Shanghai.
